First 4 weeks in Brisbane

I just can not believe that  it has been 4 weeks since I came here.
This 4 weeks  in Brisbane was a fulfilling time for me.  Everything was new and fresh. So when I finished the first week, I felt  that I had been here for a month.

There is a thing that I felt different from my experience in Canada. 3 years ago, I lived in Vancover for 10 month to study English. At that time , I was 17 years old and still a high school student so I could not travel around or went out a lot by myself. So I often stayed at home or went out with my host family in the weekend. However, this time, I often go out and have a trip in the weekend with my friends. This is very different for me when I compare to my life in Canada. Of course I liked Canada, however, to be honest, I like Brisbane better.

Firstly the weather is so nice here. It is not too hot in summer and it is not too cold in winter. Even though I have been here just for 4 weeks, I found it very comfortable to live here.

Gold Coast
Secondly there are lot of things to do. Especially, I liked beaches here. I went to Gold Cost trip in the first weekend. I have not been to a beach for a long time so I was so excited.

Okonomiyaki
I also visited other places in Brisbane. For example, I went to Eat Street. It was little bit far away from city but I liked the place very much.  It was like a festival and you can eat different kind of food from different countries. I ate Japanese food called "Okonomiyaki". It was little bit different from what I usually eat in Japan but it was still good!!  Eat Street is open every weekend. I really recommend you to visit there.

Futsal
I  joined a sports activity in UQ too. I have been playing futsal in Japan since I got into the university, so I wanted to play here too. Since I heard that ICTE students play futsal every Friday, I went to join it with my friends. However there were just boys in the teams. Although it was very hard to play futsul with boys, I enjoyed playing futsal. Actually, I got a goal !! :)
Finally, I rally like people here!!  I could make a lot of friends . Everyone is very nice to me.You know what I turned  20 years old in this April 1 and my friends  held a BBQ party on  my  birthday . I didn't expect my friends to celebrate my birthday since I had my birthday 10 days after coming to Australia.  I was so happy and had a lot of fun with them!!

Birthday BBQ

I just finished my first session which was really useful for me. I must keep studying hard for next 10 weeks to get a good score on IELTS. I really want to study at UQ!! I'll do my best :)

  1. Hi Nao

Nice blog post and photos! It looks like you're having lots of fun in Brisbane. I really enjoyed reading your blog - keep posting and keep putting photos up. Very good language use, as well. Good use of different tenses and accurate vocabulary.

Belated happy birthday and good luck with studying for the IELTS test, I hope to see you at the Friday futsal some more - if I remember correctly you were very good.

    Best wishes
